As you step through the doors at 16-3 Kitashirakawa Kubotacho, expect to be greeted by a serene atmosphere, reminiscent of an indoor botanical garden. Lush plants and flowers not only adorn the space but also infuse the air with a refreshing lavender scent that calms the spirit. The ambiance is perfect for quiet contemplation, social gatherings, or even some productive work time, as noted by patrons like Carniation and Eva Moe.

KOKU Cafe specializes in unique tea offerings, especially their stunning flowering teas which bloom beautifully in the teapot. On the menu, you’ll find a treasure trove of delights. Indulge in the Banana Chiffon Cake (¥1,380), described as a luxurious treat that embodies cloud-like fluffiness. One of my favorite cafes in Kyoto! The atmosphere is clean, calming, and perfect for studying or working. I visited with two friends, and we ordered three flower teas: carnation, double cherry blossoms, and osmanthus. I highly recommend the osmanthus tea! We can also refill the hot water for the tea. For dessert, we tried the lemon pie and banana chiffon cake. Both were delicious, especially the cream inside the cake. However, I think the banana flavor could be a bit stronger. The staff are nice, and the entire cafe, including the restroom, is clean and smells good. I definitely recommend this place and will be returning again to try the other food!

This place is fairly new, but an absolute gem! The concept of the shop is a flower cafe, so they share the space with a flower shop next door, with lots of plants and flowers on display inside the cafe which you can also purchase. It feels like you are walking into an indoor botanical garden Then there are these beautiful flowering teas that blossom inside the tea pot. They will top up the hot water, which means you can enjoy many cups of tea. Don't get me started on their freshly baked financier! I don't have a photo because as soon as I put it in my mouth, I devoured it!! The outside is golden and crisp, and the inside is beautifully fluffy and moist... with rich aroma and flavour of butter. It was definitely the best financier I have ever tasted. If you are visiting Ginkakuji or so just happen to be in the area, don't miss this cafe. It's so worth it

とても雰囲気のいいカフェです! This place has a great atmosphere! It also smells so good because of the flower shop that’s connected. It’s a calm lavender scent. The staff are really friendly too, and the tables are big enough to work on. When I get a chance to see Kyoto again this is where I’ll go

If you happen to find yourself in Shirakawa Dori, near Ginkakuji-michi, consider visiting Koku Cafe and Flower Shop. This laid-back cafe offers flower-infused tea alongside a variety of sweets. The cozy and rustic interior will surely help you recharge after sightseeing. It's also an excellent spot to impress your partner, so don't miss the chance to visit. Update 24/10/5: The chiffon cake was so Delicious!
